Role Overview
We are looking for a Chief of Staff to support the Group Managing Director (GMD) in delivering the strategic, operational, and growth objectives of Global University Systems. Acting as a trusted advisor and operational partner, the role drives cross-functional alignment, manages critical projects, and ensures the effective execution of the GMD’s priorities across the group. The Chief of Staff will also represent the GMD in key meetings, decisions, and communications.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Delivery
Coordinate the development and execution of business strategies and major initiatives.
Directly manage strategic or high-impact projects as required.
Facilitate cross-functional discussions on mergers and acquisitions, market expansion, talent strategy, and operational improvement.
Track and report performance and RAG status across the organisation to the GMD and executive team.
Operational Coordination
Organise and manage key operational activities including planning cycles, executive meetings, and decision-making processes.
Ensure effective execution of the GMD’s agenda and the timely follow-up of actions and commitments.
Translate the GMD’s direction and strategic intent into actionable plans for functional leaders and hold teams accountable for delivery.
Represent the GMD in key meetings, ensuring consistent communication and decision-making in line with group priorities.
Stakeholder and Communication Management
Serve as the primary liaison between the GMD and functional directors (CFO, CPO, CTO, and other important stakeholders).
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment on business objectives and strategy execution.
Prepare executive communication, briefing materials, and presentations for the Board, investors, and external partners.
Support clear and consistent communication of the GMD’s priorities across all levels of the organisation.
Skills and Experience
Substantial experience in senior advisory, strategy execution, or operational management roles.
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects and organisational initiatives.
Strong grasp of corporate strategy, financial management, and business operations within large or multi-entity organisations.
Excellent leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to represent senior executives in high-level discussions.
Demonstrated academic excellence in business, management or related field, ideally MBA
